Who is Surprice Car Rentals?
Surprice Car Rentals is an international car rental network. On its own website the company describes itself as a continuously growing network whose aim is to become one of the world leaders in the car rental industry, and its destination list currently covers close to thirty countries, including Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Iceland, Latvia and Lithuania. Its service promises include 24/7 support, pricing without hidden charges and several insurance levels. You can read more on the Surprice website.
The network is built on local partners: Surprice provides the brand, the international booking channels and the systems, while the local rental company takes care of the fleet, the customer service and handing over the car. In Finland, that local partner is Rentnow.
Travelling to Finland? Here is how to get a car
Our partnership has only just started, so Finland does not yet appear in Surprice’s own booking system. That is not a problem: book directly with us using the form on this page. You get the same car, the same service and the same terms, your confirmation comes from Rentnow and the rental agreement is made with us.
You collect the car at Ratapihantie 11, Itä-Pasila, Helsinki. Pasila is a major railway hub, so there is a direct train from Helsinki Airport with no changes, and the city centre is only a few minutes away. Our office sits between the Tripla shopping centre and Messukeskus, the venue for Helsinki’s largest trade fairs and conferences. At the moment Itä-Pasila is our only pick-up location.
The office is open on weekdays 9:30–17:00 and at weekends by agreement. Please call before visiting, as we are often on the move.
What an international visitor should know
- Driving licence: you need a valid licence and at least one year of driving experience. A category B licence covers our entire fleet, including the 9-seat minibus.
- Winter conditions: winter tyres are fitted during the winter season. If you have not driven on snow or ice before, tell us at pick-up and we will go through the basics with you.
- Insurance: comprehensive insurance is included, and the excess can be reduced with additional cover agreed separately.
- Fuel: the car is handed over and returned with the same fuel level. Fuel is not included in the rental price.
- Leaving the country: the car is not taken outside Finland without a separate agreement – for example a ferry trip to Tallinn needs to be agreed in advance.
All the conditions are listed in our rental terms.
Why a local partner matters
An international brand tells you the service has been vetted and the booking process is familiar. A local rental company knows which car suits Finnish conditions, where to park in Helsinki and how to return a car when your flight leaves before the office opens. We are not a call centre in another country: the people who answer you are the same people who hand over the car.
